When did you first start wearing panties or lingerie and what motivated you to try it?
I started wearing panties when I was 18 and had first moved away for college. All the underwear I had owned up until that point was just traditional male underwear. I hadn’t even thought about wearing lingerie pieces yet. Seeing pictures of hot guys in panties online really sparked my interest in lingerie and exploring a more feminine underwear aesthetic. During that time period, I was also very interested in more masculine partners who wanted me to dress feminine for them. I wasn’t able to find lingerie for male bodies and anatomy back then so I would just buy women’s panties. They did the job but there obviously isn’t much of a pouch in the panties of women’s underwear. Buying panties was my first experience in purchasing sexier underwear styles in general. I loved how liberated I felt wearing them and I loved the reactions I would get from guys when I wore them. This led me to start building my first lingerie collection which was mainly panties and skirts.
How has your lingerie journey changed over time and how often do you wear it now?
My underwear journey has had a lot of twists and turns throughout the years. In college, I leaned towards more feminine underwear. I then shifted into more masculine underwear after college and would primarily wear jockstraps for when I wanted a sexier underwear style. I think, in general, I was chasing a more masculine aesthetic at that time and shied away from wearing panties. I was getting more into the leather and kink scenes within the LGBTQ+ community which were strongly celebrating masculinity. There were still so many undertones of “Masc for Masc” in the gay scene and I subconsciously conformed to that.
It ended up coming full circle though as I started to care less about what others thought and decided to be more true to myself. I’m back to almost entirely wearing lingerie for my sexier underwear needs. I wear lingerie when I’m about to have some fun with a guy and I wear it for personal enjoyment as well. I also love wearing it for underwear nights at gay clubs and even will wear black lingerie pieces to leather and kink-based gay clubs. I know there are still plenty of gays in that scene that are drawn to a hyper-masculine aesthetic but I no longer care. I’m true to myself and there’s still plenty of guys who love the lingerie vibes I’m giving.
What are your favorite lingerie styles and fabrics and why do they feel right for you?
I love wearing a cute bra and panty set! That is my absolute favorite lingerie look to serve! I have a bigger chest and I feel like bras and bralettes highlight my chest shape very well. I feel so sexy and feminine wearing them. For panties, I love wearing a thong so I can still show off my butt while still wearing a cute panty at the same time. I love a cute bikini panty as well if I want to cover up a bit more but still feel feminine and sexy. If I’m feeling extra, I also love putting together a full matching lingerie look of a bra, panties, garter belt, stockings and heels. Sometimes I’ll even put on a coordinating short skirt as well. I have so much fun putting together a complete lingerie look like that!
For fabrics, I love a soft and silky satin. It feels so smooth against the skin and to the touch. I also think lace is one of the sexiest fabrics for underwear. Its sheerness and the delicate patterns of the lace make it a timeless choice for lingerie pieces. In addition to fabric qualities, I also love a fun print on lingerie! XDress does a really good job at incorporating fun fabric prints onto their pieces. For me, I enjoy being playful with my lingerie and a cute print is a major selling point.
Do you wear lingerie every day or save it for certain moments and how do you decide?
I wear it almost everyday. It might just be a simple panty for a day where I’m out and about but I love to incorporate lingerie as much as I can. For date nights and going out, I’m usually wearing lingerie under my clothes to feel extra sexy. I love undressing from a more formal outfit into lingerie- especially if I’m wearing a full lingerie set with a bra, panty, garter belt and stockings. I think the transition between the two looks is very erotic. At this point, I feel like myself when I’m wearing lingerie so it’s more a matter of deciding how much of it I’m going to wear than if I’m going to wear it in general.
How open are you about wearing lingerie and who in your life knows about it?
A lot of my social media alt accounts involve me posting pictures in my lingerie collection so I am very open about it online. I never thought I’d feel so confident and sexy to post underwear pictures on the internet but here we are! I’m obsessed and not planning on stopping anytime soon. I love to show off in my lingerie - especially my growing XDress collection!
In my real life, I wear lingerie in front of my partner often. He’s more used to me being in lingerie for him than any other type of underwear. I’m also grateful to have a partner who loves a lingerie femboy aesthetic. I don’t think I’d stop wearing it if he didn’t like it but it certainly helps to have that support from your significant other. I also will wear lingerie pieces to underwear nights at gay clubs so my friends and other club patrons are aware of it too. I’m no longer shy about loving more feminine styles of underwear.
How has wearing lingerie helped you connect with your feminine or softer side?
Wearing lingerie has dramatically helped me connect to my feminine side. It’s interesting as I felt very connected to that side of myself as a teenager but then, along the way, I swung the pendulum in the other direction and explored my masculine side heavily. Reconnecting with lingerie in recent years has helped me rediscover the feminine and softer sides of myself that I had repressed.
The difference now versus when I was younger is that I don’t view myself wearing lingerie and expressing myself in a feminine way as necessarily meaning I’m weaker. There’s such a strength and power in a feminine expression. I definitely still feel softer and more feminine wearing the lingerie pieces but I feel powerful and confident as well. I feel like a complete version of myself by embracing the feminine confidence I get through wearing lingerie.
What made you move away from traditional mens underwear and try something different?
Although I still find traditional men’s underwear sexy and love to see it on other guys, it can be limiting. The cuts and construction of the underwear aren’t usually as flattering on my body. They tend to work against my body shape instead of with it. I don’t have that same problem with lingerie. It flatters and accentuates the curves of my hips and chest. That, in turn, makes me feel much more confident and sexy.
Lingerie is also just more fun to me. It comes in a more playful variety of fabrics, styles and prints. I find myself able to express myself more with lingerie pieces than traditional men’s underwear. I also love that I can find underwear styles that aren’t giving masculine jock vibes. Sometimes I just want to feel pretty in my underwear and lingerie helps me achieve that!
What advice would you give to a guy who is curious about starting to wear panties or lingerie?
I think that if you already have the curiosity then you should explore it further. Test the waters and purchase something that you are interested in. Start off with a simple panty or bra or whatever style piques your interest the most. Try it on and see how it makes you feel. If you love it then explore more styles of lingerie or make a complete matching set that makes you feel sexy and confident. Go at your own pace when building your collection. I think doing things on your own time table will help you build your confidence and not feel overwhelmed about getting into something new.
How has wearing lingerie impacted your confidence or self expression?
Wearing lingerie has improved my confidence so much! I really had a hard time feeling confident in traditional male underwear. My body has curves to it and lingerie highlights them in a much more flattering way than more masculine underwear. I know I’m going to like the way I look more when I put on pieces from my lingerie collection. I love showing off my chest in bras and my butt in a lacy thong. It makes me feel amazing!
In terms of self expression, wearing lingerie has really helped me express the feminine sides of my personality and find a strength in that. I no longer feel the need to conform to the traditional standards of being male. I love expressing myself in a feminine way too much for that. Lingerie has helped me understand my gender expression more and how I feel on the inside. It’s helped me realize that I can be whatever I want to be without conforming to labels or traditions. I can just be a more fluid version of myself. I feel more like myself now than I ever have before and embracing my femininity through lingerie really helped with that!
